As a professor, I see 52 Essential Coping Skills as a helpful tool for undergraduates who are separated from home and family, while struggling to adjust to an unfamiliar environment. The cards can be used to help students get to know each other in residence halls, as a stimulus to learning in classes that address emotional intelligence, and in counseling sessions.

This is an amazing tool to not only teach my 3 boys how to improve their social skills, but also a fun activity as a family!! All 3 games are great, but I would highly recommend coping skills game. It's a very practical tool that you can use in daily basis. Thank you!!!
As a teacher and a mother I have been searching for a great Social Emotional Learning tool and finally found 52 Essential Conversations! This deck is a tool, curriculum and teacher guidebook all in one! We use these in the classroom during brain breaks, small groups lessons as well as full units. I am a special education teacher and find I am using them everyday in multiple scenarios. I purchased them on my own as we so often have to but the price is so manageable compared to anything else I have been researching! Each card has a topic and level of difficulty along with sample lessons and follow up questions. You can take your lessons wherever the conversations lead and everything is research based and CASEL aligned I’ll be taking them on my Holiday road trip and bringing them right back in for my students!
I keep these cards in what I call my “Group Survival Kit”. A small basket where I keep all kinds of educational & inspiring goodies to teach my client coping, life, relationship skills, etc. These coping skills are amazing because it ask the client to complete one task and process the task. It’s starts teaching self awareness skills, then self management, it moves to social awareness, and concludes with relationship skills. The individual slowly develops emotion, appraisal, and problem solving strategies as they progress through the deck of cards.
I had a issue with the product and the seller was very understanding and helped me with the issue. I have gotten all 3 cards and they are super useful for working with children. The questions are open ended and encourage thoughtful thinking. I will continue to purchase in the future.
Bought this to use in session with my clients. I love them. I will be practicing some myself.
This deck of coping skills card is great. I’m a therapist for children, and I’ve used it in sessions to get kids talking about their emotions and how to manage them. It’s a great way to introduce new coping skills and get my clients engaged in managing their emotions. I plan to get the other two decks to complete the set.
I love these! I am a children’s Case Manager and I use these to create mindful journaling prompts for my kids. I love the variety!! Highly recommend!!
Like most people, I have been under a lot of stress lately. When I got this new deck of cards with 52 Essential Coping Skills, I found it much easier to deal with it. Some of the strategies were familiar and some were new, but each was a helpful reminder that even though I can't control what happens, I can control how I react. It is nice that this deck of cards comes in a sturdy carrying case so I can throw 52 Essential Coping Skills in my bag and carry it with me everywhere.(See picture) 3 of hearts: "...If your mind is a browser, how many tabs do you have open? Write down all the topics. Which tab(s) can you "close" to ease cognitive load?" This is one of the exercises that I have found most helpful. It is such a relief to "close some of the tabs" so I can sleep at night. These really are essential coping skills. Thank you!
With so much juggling - and so much stress about the state of the world - going on right now, it's hard not to feel overwhelmed, down and in a funk. This handy set of cards is very helpful. It breaks down small "coping" and self-preservation thought streams into manageable chunks. It feels like having a therapist walk you through some helpful reflections and strategies in manageable bits (and let's face it, the only time we have to ourselves these days if we're parenting is micropauses.). There are four focus areas, divided up by suit: Self-Awareness, Self Management, Social Awareness and Relationship Skills. While it can be hard to find time to sit down and reflect for many of us, these help you do it. They are a very well thought out, helpful, way to help people manage emotions, stress, self-assessment and develop resiliency and find grace. Try it and see if you don't feel better just from taking a few moments to reflect and reorient. They can be done as a family, or just by yourself. I plan on keeping mine in my bag for when I have a few spare moments by myself in the car to sit and think, or write in a pocket journal, and also plan on doing a card with my kids a few times a week. Highly recommend!
As a first generation college student of color, I have endured a great deal of trauma that I wasn’t able to process healthily. My family is not very knowledgeable of emotional intelligence and I often had to put my emotions to the side because they didn’t know how to help. 52 Essential Coping Skills honestly was a great start to unpacking emotional baggage and begin my process to healing. This set helped me identify my emotions and begin to unlearn unhealthy thoughts/habits that cross my mind every day. This card set is one of three sets (52 Essential Relationships & 52 Essential Conversations) and this one is just as amazing as the other two. It is not a substitution for therapy, but it definitely is something that can help you process your thoughts and help you and your loved ones.
Our family love, love, loves these cards! Our kids go to a school that's rooted in social-emotional growth. We bought Mind Brain Emotion cards to help build on this learning experience at home. Simply, we wanted a tool that would help create dialogue with our tweens and these decks ABSOLUTELY do the trick! We're super excited to use the latest COPING SKILLS deck to help navigate the complexities of today's world.
These cards came into my life at the perfect time! The messages in these cards as well as the mindfulness activities really help me learn more about myself. I use the strategies when I am feeling anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed in life. I also love that they are so portable so I can keep them with me.
I was so excited to receive this deck of cards in the mail! It’s a great addition to the other 52 Essential Conversations boxes! These cards are full of coping exercises and activities that really help deal with the emotional baggage from everyday stressors. There is so much added stress from how Covid 19 has changed my work environment to managing the kids during their remote learning. The cards help keep me emotionally grounded and focused on prioritizing the important things in life. Each card provides a quick and easy exercise to keep things in perspective.I wish I had these cards earlier! They could have helped with building healthier relationships, understanding friendships, and working through some tough conflicts. As an added bonus, there is a free coping assessment included in the deck!
This new deck in the 52 Essential card series could not come at a better time for us. We've used 52 Essential Conversations and Relationships in the past for our kids and marriage, but it's been really hard lately to keep our spirits up with all the COVID-19 stress. I had less time and patience for everyone, and I was in desperate need of something to help me manage all my anxieties and frustration working from home and juggling kids' distance learning.I like how the cards are categorized by different types of coping skills so I can easily find a strategy I need just by looking at the card topic and # across the suits. The exercises helped me to look at my situation in ways I've never thought about which gave me some sense of calm and clarity...I had no idea that I had all these different options for dealing with my triggers. I haven't had time to try out all the cards yet, but so far I've found "Unboxing Emotions", "Use Your Compass" and "The Three Stooges" particularly powerful!
Fine for my daughter in healthcare
It was a great gift
