Cook Pasta
-
Boil water: Put a large pot of water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Wait for the water to come to a rolling boil.
-
Add salt: Once the water is boiling, add a pinch of salt to the water. This will help flavor the pasta.
-
Add the pasta: Carefully add the pasta to the pot of boiling water. Be sure to stir the pasta right away so that it doesn't stick together.
-
Cook the pasta: Let the pasta cook for about 8-12 minutes, or until it's cooked to your liking. Check the cooking time on the package for guidance.
-
Test the pasta: Use a fork to take a piece of pasta out of the pot and taste it. The pasta should be tender, but not mushy.
-
Drain the pasta: Once the pasta is cooked to your liking, turn off the heat and carefully pour the pasta and water through a colander to drain the water. Be careful not to burn yourself with the hot water.
-
Rinse the pasta (optional): If you like, you can rinse the pasta with cold water to cool it down and stop the cooking process.
-
Serve the pasta: Scoop the cooked pasta onto a plate, add your favorite sauce or seasoning, and enjoy!
