Be a Good Host/Guest
How to be a good host:
-
Greet your guests warmly: When your guests arrive, greet them with a smile and a warm welcome. Let them know that you're happy they're here.
-
Show them around: Give your guests a tour of your home and show them where they'll be staying. Make sure they know where everything is and how to use it.
-
Offer them something to eat and drink: Ask your guests if they're hungry or thirsty and offer them something to eat or drink. Make sure you have a variety of options to accommodate different tastes and dietary restrictions.
-
Make conversation: Try to engage your guests in conversation and make them feel comfortable. Ask them about their interests and hobbies, and share some of your own.
-
Respect their privacy: Make sure your guests have the privacy they need to feel comfortable. If they're staying overnight, give them their own room or space to relax.
How to be a good guest:
-
Arrive on time: Be punctual and arrive at the agreed-upon time. This shows respect for your host's time and schedule.
-
Bring a gift: Bring a small gift or token of appreciation for your host, such as a bouquet of flowers or a bottle of wine.
-
Follow the house rules: Respect your host's home and follow their house rules. For example, if they ask you to take off your shoes at the door, do so.
-
Help out: Offer to help your host with cooking, cleaning, or other tasks. This shows that you're grateful for their hospitality and want to contribute.
-
Say thank you: Before you leave, thank your host for their hospitality and let them know that you had a great time.
