Cut Up Fruit or Vegetable

Here are some steps for chopping fruits and vegetables:

  1. Wash your hands: Make sure your hands are clean before you start.

  2. Clean the fruits or vegetables: Rinse them under running water and dry them with a clean towel.

  3. Prepare a cutting board: Choose a sturdy cutting board and make sure it's clean.

  4. Cut off any rough parts: Cut off any stems, leaves, or rough parts of the fruit or vegetable.

  5. Cut into smaller pieces: Depending on what you're chopping, cut the fruit or vegetable into smaller pieces that are easier to handle.

  6. Use a chef's knife: Hold the knife with your dominant hand and place your other hand on top of the fruit or vegetable. Cut through it with a rocking motion, going back and forth to make the cuts.

  7. Practice safety: Keep your fingers away from the knife and use the tips of your fingers to guide the knife. Be careful and go slow, especially if you're new to chopping.

Remember to always ask for help from an adult if you're not sure how to do something. And don't forget to have fun! The more you practice, the better you'll get at it.
