How would you explain Epilepsy to a child?

Epilepsy is when something unusual happens in your brain. Your brain is like a very powerful computer. It controls everything you do. When your brain starts sending too many electrical messages, this can make different things happen to your body.

What would you want the world to know about Epilepsy?

The most important message for any child is that people with epilepsy are just like everyone else. They deserve respect and understanding, not teasing and cruelty.

What does it feel like to live with Epilepsy?

It sometimes feels scary especially when I have to get my blood drawn. It is difficult when I have to avoid strobe lights. I cannot go on all the amusement park rides, movies and I have to wear sunglasses in the car.

What brings you joy?

Playing with my barbies, my rabbit (Olley), drawing, dogs, and swimming.
