How would you explain Bipolar to a child?

Bipolar is a disease that can cause you to have very strong mood swings. One moment you can be very happy, and then, for what feels like no reason at all, you can become mad or sad. Bipolar was once called Manic Depression; Manic means high (happy or excited), and depression represents low (sad or mad).

What would you want the world to know about Bipolar?

Though Bipolar disorder can certainly have a dramatic effect on your life, with medication and certain techniques, every day can be manageable and enjoyable.

What does it feel like to live with Bipolar?

It can feel like you’re not in control of your own brain sometimes. You can be surprised by the way you can suddenly feel different.

What brings you joy?

Knowing my family always loves me brings the most joy to my life.
